Feel the burn
Sunday I went out to do 50 miles. About four hours on the bike, maybe five total. When I got two hours down the trail I saw that it was only 7 more miles to the end. Not really thinking I thought “7 more miles would be easy as good as I feel right now”. 14 miles later I was back to that same spot, because 7 miles down a trail means 7 miles back. Once I knew my car couldn’t be that far from the other end of the trail, so I just went for it.
The last part of the trail was straight up wind. It was a PITA to get up, but turning around I flew back to the car in the low 20s. I even passed a car coming down a side street. In the end…
71.53 miles, 5:36:31 moving, 6:13 + about 45 minutes for lunch in the middle. 12.75 MPH moving. I rode the Pinellas Trail. I burned about 2500 calories!
Next time I might add on one of the spurs.
Today I rode 11.06 miles in 46 minutes at 14.43. The wind was horrible, about 10 MPH most of the way. That made going up wind terrible, but I hit 26 going down wind on a sprint. I did a good bit of sprinting as my average heart rate was 162, which is right near the anaerobic threshold. Fun fun fun.
