Cabling

I recently installed a new DVD-RW drive in my computer and in doing so needed to disconnect the 24 external wires that connect directly to the computer. In digging through my pile of mess I realized there’s got to be about twice that many wires at a minimum (each device that connects to the computer has power!)

Wiring is a major disaster for me. Discounting the power cables which are large, bulky and easily manageable due to their size there’s a lot of little wires all going to about the same place. What possible solution is there to keep there from being a major pile of garbage on my floor?

I tried velcro wire ties. It works fairly well for the most part but I’ve come to realize I need a better solution for wire management. My thought is 1′ sections of flexible conduit. I can buy it in large lengths and cut them to size. This way the piles of wires become, like the power cords, more easily manageable.

As for the video cable on the ground not connected to anything… …I’ve got no clue at this point.
